When you migrate your project from one version to another, be very careful to have a project that would run on that computer before migrating/converting. 

For example, if you had in your config files the event and data = IP... make sure you either comment those out, or put them to the computer where you are doing the migration/conversion. Otherwise it will fail with a message that is hard to understand.

Also true for sub projects.  Be sure to migrate the sub projects before the main project as it will search for sub project items in the conversion.
